Menaggio, thanks to its panoramic position, from which you have a charming view over Bellagio, Varenna and all the central part of the lake, is a famous touristic resort, with a very good hotel organization, golf course, touristic harbour, camping place, lido with swimming pool, and a youth hostel.
The heart of the town is the historical center, whose jewel is the public square on the lake, surrounded by bars and restaurants. The beautiful lakeside promenade, always enriched with blooming flowers, under the shadow of fresh trees, starts from the harbour and leads to the end of the town, where there the lido and a minigolf course.
Menaggio, as all the towns on the lake, gives to the tourists the possibility to practice different water sports on the lake, but it offers also beautiful views and artistic jewels, among which the church of SantoStefano, a building from 17th century where you can see a crucifix dated back to 1539, and the neoclassic Villa Mylius Vigoni, today seat of an Italian-German foundation, put in a splendid park that keeps a lot of species of plants, some of them very rare and precious.
